The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified the woman who was allegedly caught on video running over and killing a nail salon owner after she didn’t pay for her manicure. Krystal Whipple, 21, got a manicure at Crystal Nails on Dec. 29 and attempted to pay for the service with a “fraudulent credit card,” authorities said. Whipple then allegedly told the salon”s staff that she would get cash from her vehicle to pay, but instead got in her car and started to drive away. In video footage, the salon’s owner, Nhu “Annie” Nguyen, and her partner, Sonny Chung, can be seen running outside to stop her—with Nguyen running in front of Whipple’s vehicle. In a video statement released from the department, Lt. Ray Spencer said Whipple accelerated her vehicle in the parking lot and Nguyen was thrown under the car. Nguyen later died of her injuries, and Whipple still remains at large. “It is important that we get this suspect into custody, as the victims family and this community deserve to have her answer for this horrible crime,” Lt. Spencer said.
