Former IRS official Lois Lerner referred to conservatives as “assholes” and “crazies” in emails released Wednesday by the House Ways and Means Committee. A redacted email from Lerner dated November 9, 2012 states “So we don’t need to worry about alien teRrorists. (sic) It’s our own crazies that will take us down.” Committee chairman Rep. Dave Camp, a Republican, released the emails in a public letter to Attorney General Eric Holder. Lerner is already in contempt of Congress for refusing to answer questions regarding IRS targeting of conservative groups. Camp and other Republicans have accused Holder of not doing enough to take the case seriously. In his letter, Camp said he hoped Holder would appoint “a special counsel, so the full truth can be revealed and justice is served.”
