Pitbull covered the ‘80s classic song “Africa” by Toto for the new DC Comics film Aquaman, saying the ocean has special meaning for him. The song, titled Ocean to Ocean, features Pitbull rapping the lyrics and singer Rhea singing the chorus. “The ocean, the sea and any body of water, to me, is true freedom,” the rapper, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, said in a statement. “The ocean has always been the border from where my parents came from Cuba and the United States, which gives us freedom. That’s why I respect water. Bottom line: water gives us freedom.” The film, which is slated for release on Dec. 21 in the U.S., reportedly earned $94 million in its debut weekend in China.
