Lost ‘Return of the Jedi’ Footage Found

HOLY MIDI-CHLORIANS

Found on a LaserDisc bought for $699.

Watch it while you can because George Lucas is not going to let this one stay out there for long. Lost footage from the Return of the Jedi has been found on a LaserDisc that was used to demonstrate ‘80s editing software. Most of the clips are of Luke Skywalker’s last visit to Yoda on Dagobah, but there’s also another full minute of R2-D2 repairing Skywalker’s damaged X-wing. The origin of the LaserDisc is unknown, but it’s believed that it once was used to edit Lucasfilm’s EditDroid station, one of the first editing systems sold nearly 30 years ago (although Lucas himself never used EditDroid). Oh and here’s the kicker: someone bought the LaserDisc off eBay for $699.
