Tragedy struck revelers at Venice Beach in California on Saturday when a car plowed into the boardwalk, killing one out of at least a dozen who were struck. Among the ten wounded who accepted transportation to area hospitals, one was injured critically and two suffered serious injuries. A 35-year-old man named Nathan Campbell has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run and is being held on $1 million bail. The deceased victim has been identified as Alice Griupponi, 32, of Italy.
