Mike Huckabee Criticizes Natalie Portman's "Out-of-Wedlock" Pregnancy

Says Oscar winner "glamorizes" single motherhood.

Remember what happened to Dan Quayle when he criticized Murphy Brown, Mike Huckabee? The former Arkansas governor ripped Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman for “glamorizing” single motherhood with an “out-of-wedlock” pregnancy. “What’s troubling is that people see a Natalie Portman or some other Hollywood starlet who boasts of ‘Hey, look, you know, we’re having children, we’re not married, but we’re having these children and they’re doing just fine,' ” said Huckabee on the conservative radio Michael Medved Show on Monday. Huckabee said “out-of-wedlock” children by minorities are a “staggering” cost to this country. Medved led Huckabee into the discussion by asking if the “most wonderful gift” Portman’s fiancé Benjamin Millepied could give the actress is a wedding ring.
