Miss USA Defends Racy Photos

Unconvincing

Claims they were to promote positive female confidence.

Not more than 48 hours after winning the Miss USA crown, Rima Fakih is speaking out about recently surfaced shots of her pole-dancing that landed her in pretty hot water. Fakih insisted that the photos were meant to be harmless, and were taken at an annual radio event promoting women's fitness. "I was just being silly and jumping up and there were a few pictures exchanged," she told People magazine, adding, "I know it looks really negative but it's not really what you've seen. I didn't do anything wrong." Fakih claims that at the end of the event, female participants jumped onstage alongside her, but "Of course, the pictures won't show that."
