Prada designer Miuccia Prada will receive the prestigious McKim Medal for her contributions to the visual arts. The designer has championed many artists through her organization, Fondazione Prada, in addition to her duties as a fashion powerhouse. The McKim Award honors individuals who have contributed significantly to the arts and humanities, and previous winners include Renzo Piano, Cy Twombly, Umberto Eco, Franco Zeffirelli, and Ennio Morricone. The medal, which creates fellowships for new artists at the American Academy in Rome, will be bestowed there on May 26.
