After a month-long auction garnering bids from 140 countries, a mystery millionaire secured one of six seats on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin New Shepard rocket for $28 million. Bidding had stalled at $5 million until the final hours of the auction on Saturday when it skyrocketed. Bezos’ rocket will launch on July 20 for a 10-minute 62 mile high trip to space. Bezos and his brother are among the six passengers.
