Danish director Lars von Trier, who revealed in 2022 that he has Parkinson’s disease, has been admitted into a care center according to his production company on Wednesday, The Guardian reported. Von Trier, 68, is a notable figure in contemporary auteur cinema and can be credited with directing over 14 feature films, including Dancer in the Dark which won the 2000 Palme D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. “Lars is currently associated with a care center that can provide him with the treatment and care his condition requires,” Zentropa producer Louise Vesth posted on Instagram. “It’s a complement to his own private accommodation. Lars is doing well under the circumstances,” she added, lamenting the “need to pass on very personal information” following speculation in the Danish media. The director infamously claimed that he understood Adolf Hitler and sympathized “with him a little bit,” in reference to his film Melancholia during a press conference at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. He apologized later, but at the time, he was banned. His film still competed and won its star Kirsten Dunst an award for best actress.

Ask any professional athlete or wellness obsessive, and they’ll tell you that post-workout recovery is as important as the workout itself. You don’t need to dodge blitzes or dribble past defenders to enhance your wellness routine—a cold plunge followed by time in a Galanter & Jones heated chair is all you need for all-star restoration.

Galanter & Jones is a design studio that specializes in heated outdoor furniture, allowing you to enjoy year-round comfort no matter the temperature. The brand’s heated chairs are the perfect complement after a cold plunge. Here’s how it works: First, you immerse yourself in cold water, a method that may reduce inflammation and enhance circulation, which in turn alleviates muscle soreness and promotes quicker physical recovery.

Once the shock of the cold water wears off, you transition to the comfort of a heated chair, which soothes your body, improves circulation, and eases any muscles that are still tight. In addition to the physical benefits, the warmth can also curb any mental stress by lulling you into a sense of relaxation. (They call it heat therapy for a reason!)

Aside from being the perfect cold plunge companion, there are plenty of other reasons to fall in love with a Galanter & Jones chair. With built-in rust resistance and drainage features, this durable furniture is designed to weather the elements in all four seasons—ideal for these frigid winter months. Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend shared the handwritten note that the legendary NFL coach, 72, gave her the day the pair first met. In a post commemorating their four-year “meetiversary,” Jordon Hudson revealed that Belichick signed a philosophy textbook they had bonded over. “Thanks for giving me a course on logic! Safe travels,” he wrote in the note, which was dated Feb. 11, 2021. The former Patriots head coach also made sure to note every single one of six Super Bowl wins underneath his signature. “Happy Meetiversary @billbelichick,” Hudson wrote in the post’s caption. “Cheers 🥂 to the fact that you still let me give you lengthy philosophical lectures four years later.” TMZ previously reported that the two met on a plane flight while Hudson was still a college student (and a cheerleader). They didn’t start dating, however, until 2023, and they didn’t go public with their relationship until Sept. 2024. Belichick, who parted ways with the Patriots early last year, became the head football coach at the University of North Carolina in December.

Explosive New DNA Evidence Could See Kohberger Walk Free
'MUDDY THE WATERS'

Mystery DNA evidence from two unidentified males was found by detectives at the crime scene of the 2022 killing of four University of Idaho students. The information may help the legal defense of Bryan Kohberger, who has been charged with the homicides, the Idaho Statesman reported. Blood DNA was discovered on a hand railing at the off-campus house where the students were stabbed to death. A glove found by police also just outside the house had blood on it from an unknown male. When police sought a warrant for Kohberger’s arrest in Dec 2022, they did not reveal the unidentified blood DNA to a magistrate judge. Kohberger’s attorney, Anne Taylor, has claimed the information was deliberately omitted when the judge considered whether to issue a warrant for Kohberger’s arrest and argued that some of the evidence should be disqualified as a result. Criminal defense expert Edwina Elcox said Kohberger’s attorney may use the discoveries to “muddy the waters” and create reasonable doubt. “That evidence could be any variety of things: It could be something, or it could be a lot of things that are nothing,” Elcox told the Idaho Statesman.

Shakira kicked off her new tour by reveling in the crowd singing “f--- yourself” to her ex-husband. The superstar and Gerard Pique, a soccer legend who played for Manchester United and Barcelona, separated in June 2022 after 11 years of marriage amid rumors he cheated on her. And her fans haven’t forgotten the acrimonious end to their union, as they sang “Hey, Pique, go f--- yourself,” on the opening night of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Word Tour in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. When the chants began, the 48-year-old cupped her ear and flashed a knowing glance toward the crowd. Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is Shakira’s big breakup album, and fires pointed shots at Pique. It comes after Shakira spoke about a difficult period. “I’ve grown a lot,” she said at the Grammys on Feb. 2. “I’ve learned a lot of lessons. Life hasn’t always been kind, but it’s been a good teacher. The she-wolf is still here.”

A U.K. court has ordered a refund to a billionaire’s daughter and her husband after they unknowingly bought a $40 million London mansion with a “severe moth infestation.” Iya Patarkatsishvili, daughter of late Georgian billionaire Badri Patarkatsishvili, and her husband, Dr. Yevhen Hunyak, bought the luxury, seven-bedroom home, which features a spa, cinema and gym in 2019, the Guardian reported. But Hunyak said they quickly learned it was infested with moths, with him personally killing 10 to 35 of the insects daily. The court found seller William Woodward-Fisher, a surveyor and real estate developer, guilty of “fraudulent misrepresentations” for concealing the infestation in the home’s insulation. The couple was granted most of their money back, and was also awarded “substantial damages,” including $18,000 for ruined clothes. Patarkatsishvili’s father, who fell out with Russian President Vladimir Putin, moved to the UK in 2000, and died in 2008 of a heart attack in London.

Scarlett Johansson Rips AI Video of Her Giving Kanye West the Finger

Actor Scarlett Johansson has called for the U.S. government to regulate artificial intelligence after a fake video appearing to show her and other Jewish celebrities denouncing Kanye West’s racism went viral. In the AI-generated video, Johansson and other A-listers are wearing a white T-shirt with a hand giving the middle finger. There’s a Star of David on the hand and the word “KANYE” written underneath, in reference to West ranting against Jews on social media last week and calling himself a Nazi. He also tried to sell swastika T-shirts on his Yeezy website, leading his talent agency to drop him and Shopify to delete his Yeezy store. In a statement to the New York Post, Johansson said she is a Jewish woman “who has no tolerance for antisemitism or hate speech of any kind. But I also firmly believe that the potential for hate speech multiplied by A.I. is a far greater threat than any one person who takes accountability for it.” She called it “terrifying” that the U.S. government is “paralyzed” when it comes to passing AI legislation and urged the government to make AI regulation a top priority. Johansson had previously called out a ChatGPT voice created by OpenAI that sounded “eerily similar” to hers, after she had declined to let the company use her real voice. The generated voice was ultimately pulled. Johansson told the Post that while she had been a “very public victim of AI,” the technology’s threat extends to everyone. “It is a bipartisan issue that enormously affects the immediate future of humanity at large,” her statement said.

Apple Maps renamed the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, in accordance with President Donald Trump’s day one executive order. This comes after the Trump administration updated the U.S. database for geographic names, called the U.S. Geographic Names Information System, late Sunday. Google Maps and Bing Maps have both also renamed the gulf, with Google stating on Monday that it began rolling out changes to reflect the update “consistent with our longstanding practices,” The Hill reported. According to Google Maps, the name of the body of water will depend on where the user is located. U.S. users will see “Gulf of America,” Mexico users will see “Gulf of Mexico,” and the rest of the world will see both names “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America).” Trump’s executive order was met with resistance from Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum, who said, “To change the name of an international sea, it is not a country that changes it. It is an international organization that does this,” according to an Al Jazeera translation of a press conference.

Kash Patel’s cute kiddies’ books about “King” Donald Trump and the mischievous plot to elect “Sleepy Joe” ahead of the royal ruler are selling for $50 online and the price may go up if the MAGA princeling is confirmed as expected as the new FBI Director. The bump in the cost of the paperback version of The Plot Against the King 2000 Mules from the regular retail price of $19.99 on Amazon is because it comes complete with Patel’s moniker on the Premiere Collectibles website. It seems a little much for the kids’ pocket money, despite the pledge to teach lessons in “fairness, integrity, and most of all: the importance of being truthful.” The kid-friendly telling of the 2020 election “steal” certainly has an impeccable recommendation from the trilogy’s hero, the president himself, who gushes: “This book should be in every school in the country.” For another $50, The Plot Against the King 3: The Return of the King, is also featured on the collector’s site. No doubt Patel will have to settle for his usual royalty but he might enjoy the bump for the book. “This fun story is a great way to start a conversation with your kids about the election. It’s also the perfect gag gift for a liberal friend or family member!”

Trump Behaving Like a ‘Coked-Up’ Partygoer, Top Neuropsychologist Says
PSYCHED!
Published 02.12.25 11:03AM EST

Donald Trump is ripping up the presidential rulebook and behaving like a “coked-up” partygoer, according to a top neuropsychologist. Ian Robertson, emeritus professor of psychology at Trinity College Dublin, wrote in The Irish Times that power has made the 78-year-old act like he’s full of drugs on a late-night bender. “What we’re seeing in Trump is the impact of power on the human brain,” Robertson wrote in the op-ed. “It acts like cocaine, and in high doses makes people feel elated, super-confident and aggressive—like coked-up late-night revellers on Dublin’s Dame Street throwing the punches at strangers just because they can.” The neuropsychologist’s comments come as Trump has spoken repeatedly about taking over Gaza and turning it into a real estate hotspot and taunted Denmark with pledges to take over Greenland. Robertson said that power increases testosterone, which in turn boosts dopamine—“just like cocaine.” He added: “This fuels an aggressive, feel-good state of mind, particularly in dominant, amoral personalities such as Trump’s. It also creates a restless, hyperactive state of mind which, when combined with a feeling of omnipotence, fosters the delusions that you can snap your fingers and sort every problem.”
