NYT Endorses Cory Booker for Senate

vote 4 booker

In an opinion piece by the editorial board.

The Grey Lady is Team Booker. In an opinion piece by the editorial board, the New York Times endorsed Newark mayor Cory Booker for the position of U.S. Senator, saying that compared to the "extremely conservative" Steven Lonegan, Booker is "far and away the better candidate." The editorial piece goes on to compare Lonegan to Senator Ted Cruz, in that he could "only add to the senseless, partisanship that has now taken the economy to the brink of disaster." Booker, on the other hand, is "a progressive on social issues, supports women’s rights, same-sex marriage, health care reform and gun control," and "would push for a higher minimum wage, environmental regulations, corporate tax reform and more assistance for college students." Polls open in New Jersey on Wednesday.
