Obama: Gaza Situation 'Unsustainable'

A bland statement that is likely to elicit strong responses anyhow: President Obama called the situation in Gaza “unsustainable” on Tuesday as he hosted the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. He called Israel’s botched flotilla raid a “tragedy” and called for a “better approach” and a “new conceptual framework” in Gaza, where Israel has maintained a three-year-long blockade. Obama also predicted “real progress” in talks between Israel and Palestine in the coming months.
