After a Jesus-take-the-wheel kind of week, House Speaker John Boehner said Friday that it was up to Obama to keep the nation from falling over the fiscal cliff. Speaking to the press Friday afternon, Obama said he had met Republicans "more than half way," and there was "no reason" they couldn't reach an agreement. The president said had just finished talks with Boehner and Harry Reid, and that he remains "ready and willing" to cooperate with Republicans. Obama focused on the parties' agreement on middle-class taxes: "Averting this middle-tax class hike is not a Republcan responsibility or a Democrat responsibility, it's a shared responsibility."
