Sadie Sink is officially joining the Spider-Man franchise.

On Mar. 12, Deadline announced that the actress, known for her roles in Stranger Things and The Whale, has officially signed on for Spider-Man 4, joining the newest installment of the beloved franchise about a teenage boy who develops superpowers after he gets bit by a radioactive spider.

Although there is no word yet about what role Sink will play in the film, a popular theory floating around online is that the actress will star as X-Men character Jean Grey, a telepathic mutant, or Gwen Stacy, one of Parker’s love interests.

“She’s def playing Jean grey,” one person wrote on X, posting a side-by-side of Sink and the X-Men character.

“they’re gonna put sadie sink in a blonde wig and make her gwen stacy im calling it right now,” another user commented.

Tom Holland will return to Spider-Man 4 to reprise his role as Peter Parker, with Destin Daniel Cretton set to direct and Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers listed as co-writers.

According to Deadline, the film will begin production in the fall of 2025 after Holland wraps filming on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, picking up after the events of the third film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Parker erase his identity to save the world before ending up in a new dimension, where he must start over and rebuild his life.

As of now, Spider-Man 4 will hit theatres during the summer of 2026, leaving fans lots of time to speculate about where Marvel will take their beloved Spidey story next.
