One Dead, 20 Injured After Shots Fired at Washington, D.C. Gathering

More than 20 people were shot—one fatally—when unnamed shooters opened fire at a gathering in the Greenway neighborhood of Washington, D.C. early Sunday morning. The person who died was identified as 17-year-old Christopher Brown. At least seven victims were brought to hospitals in critical condition, one of whom is an unidentified police officer who was off-duty at the time of the shooting. The Washington Post reports that officers were called to the scene shortly after 12:30 a.m. at a gathering that Lt. George Robison said could not be called a party. Officers said that there were at least three shooters who fired from various locations. No motive or arrests have yet been made.
