A 14-year-old student allegedly shot one of his classmates in the arm on Friday morning at a high school in Palmdale, California, according to the Associated Press. The suspected shooter has been taken into custody, and a gun was recovered at the scene at Highland High School, according to officials. The injured student was shot due to a "dispute” between the students, but is now in stable condition. Capt. Darren Harris said that the student is “expected to make a full recovery.” A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, Nicole Nishida, told the Los Angeles Times that reports came in about an armed suspect at 7:00 a.m. He was detained around 8:15 a.m. according to a tweet from the Sheriff's Office. The shooting sparked a massive police response, as police deputies, firefighters, paramedics, and the ATF responded to the scene.
