Papa John’s will remove founder John Schnatter from all marketing materials, according to the Associated Press. The moves comes after Schnatter admitted to using the n-word during a conference call in May. The call was meant to teach Schnatter about how to address public-relations scandals after his comments on NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem sparked controversy. “Colonel Sanders called blacks n-----s” without backlash, he complained in the call. There are no plans to change the name of the chain yet. Schnatter resigned from the company’s board on Wednesday—after stepping down as CEO in May following his NFL remarks —and national baseball teams have severed ties with the company. Since then, the pizza chain’s shares have increased by 11 percent, according to Forbes. The founder recently apologized for his racist remark, calling his language “inappropriate and hurtful.”
