Sick of the constant exposure that comes with life on the Internet, Napster founder and former Facebook president Sean Parker wanted his wedding to be private—or at least that's what he said. So he and fiancée Alexandra Lenas invited 364 of their closest friends to dress up like characters from Lord of the Rings and gather under the redwood trees to watch them get married. Despite claiming to have gone out of their way to conceal the location of their nuptials from the press, on the guest list was Vanity Fair reporter David Kirkpatrick. One of the wedding photographers was also a regular Vanity Fair contributor. The result is a 32-photo spread and "exclusive" story of the bash, provided by the photographer and Kirkpatrick—with Parker's permission, of course.
