A small aircraft smashed into a busy highway in Brazil, killing two people and injuring several others. Terrifying footage shows the King Air F90 smash into a central reservation as traffic waited to cross the intersection in one of the busiest zones in Sao Paulo, a city of 11.45 million people. G1 reported that the light aircraft was trying to land and that it smashed into a bus, which then caught fire. The exact cause of the crash is unconfirmed, but a witness said he saw the plane hit a tree. “It hit the tree, hit the sign, and started pouring kerosene,” said engineer Joao Lucas da Silva Amaral. “When it hit the ground, it exploded, and we ran.” Two people — the pilot and a passenger who worked as a lawyer and motivational speaker — died. Seven people were taken to the hospital, including a passerby on a motorbike who was hit by flying debris and a woman who was traveling on the bus. Five others were also rushed to medical facilities, including the bus driver, who was reportedly suffering from an anxiety attack. The twin-engine plane was set to land in Porto Alegre, around 700 miles to the south.
