The Las Vegas Police Department released body-camera footage on Wednesday of officers breaching the Las Vegas gunman’s Mandalay Bay suite in October, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The clips come from Sgt. Joshua Bitsko and David Newton—two canine officers who entered the 32nd-floor suite. The first officer to enter the room, Levi Hancock, did not activate his body camera. Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said that this clip is the first of many that will be released “over the next several months in compliance with a court order,” the Review-Journal reported. He added that more clips would be released in the next two weeks. Media organizations sued the police department for the body-camera footage days after the mass shooting. Gunman Stephen Paddock fired on a country music festival from his suite last year, killing 58 people in the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
