Zachary Cruz, the younger brother of confessed Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz, has allegedly discussed setting up a fan club for his jailed brother, prosecutors said Tuesday. The allegation was made at a bond hearing over trespassing charges against Zachary Cruz, who was caught on the campus of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School a day earlier, despite being advised to avoid the site. He was held on a $500,000 bond and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation over that misdemeanor charge. Cruz’s behavior has reportedly alarmed the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, which on Tuesday moved to have him involuntarily committed. “He has all the same flags present as his brother,” Assistant Broward State Attorney Sarahnell Murphy told the judge, the Miami Herald reported. Murphy said that in addition to the younger Cruz contemplating a fan club, he has also been overheard expressing admiration for Nikolas Cruz’s “popularity” during jailhouse visits. Nikolas Cruz has confessed to the Feb. 14 school shooting that left 17 people dead and is facing the death penalty.
