Report: AT&T Paid Cohen $600K to Advise on Time Warner Merger

AT&T reportedly went to President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, just three days after Trump was sworn into office to get assistance on a number of issues, including a potential merger with Time Warner. According to a report in The Washington Post, internal documents revealed that the money Cohen was paid, a $600,000 sum, was predicated on his advice on the proposed merger. The administration ultimately sided against AT&T and the Department of Justice filed a suit to block the deal. Cohen was conducting a large number of deals with corporate clients at the time, as first revealed by adult film actress Stormy Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti.
