Special counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecutors told Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, they planned to indict him, according to a New York Times report. Federal agents raided Manafort’s Virginia home in July with a search warrant, claiming they needed evidence that Manafort had set up a secret offshore bank account. The report says Mueller’s team has used “shock-and-awe tactics to intimidate witnesses and potential targets” of the Russian election investigation. The report alleges Manafort is “under investigation for possible violations of tax laws, money-laundering prohibitions and requirements to disclose foreign lobbying.”
