Vice President Mike Pence’s doctor raised concerns about Dr. Ronny Jackson last fall after he “may have violated federal privacy protections” for Karen Pence and “intimidated” the VP’s doctor in “angry confrontations,” according to CNN. The allegations, written in memos by the VP’s physician, include Jackson “inappropriately intervening in a medical situation involving the second lady” and “violating federal privacy rights by briefing White House staff and disclosing details to other medical providers.” According to the memos, Jackson did not consult with the VP’s physician before intervening and acted unprofessionally in subsequent confrontations. Mrs. Pence reportedly raised concerns “over the potential breach of privacy of her medical condition.” She then allegedly told the doctor to tell VP Pence’s top aide, Nick Ayers, to inform chief of staff John Kelly what had happened. The vice president’s spokesman said the physician “brought the issue to Mr. Ayers, who appropriately referred the matter to the proper channels” and that the second lady “considers the matter closed and has no further comment on the situation.”
