Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg called Donald Trump days after his victory over Hillary Clinton to offer his congratulations on the win and the campaign, according to a Thursday report from BuzzFeed News. The BuzzFeed report also probed Facebook’s relationship with the Trump campaign, arguing that the company was so enamored with Trump’s online strategy (which involved pouring millions into Facebook ads) that it incorporated it into their own marketing model. “In reality, Facebook loved us during the campaign,” said Gary Coby, Trump’s 2016 campaign director of digital advertising and fundraising. “Their team was heavily involved because it was a great learning experience and Hillary's team was not doing much.” Neither Facebook nor the White House responded to BuzzFeed’s request for comment.
