What Recession? Rolls-Royce Posted Record Sales Last Year

Not only did it sell more cars—but the ultra-wealthy paid more to pimp their rides.

While the average American was worrying about the price of gas and groceries last year, the ultra-rich were helping Rolls-Royce have a banner year. CNBC reports that not only did the automaker sell a record 6,021 cars, but buyers paid even more for them by pimping their rides under a customization program called Bespoke. The average cost of new wheels: $534,000. Rolls-Royce’s SUV, the Cullinan, was its biggest seller.
