The Iranian man who drew worldwide attention for being the “doppelganger” of Friends actor David Schwimmer denied theft and fraud charges in a London court on Friday, the BBC reports. “Is this the Ross from Friends case?” Judge Beverly Lint reportedly asked during the trial, causing the defendant, Abdulah Husseini, to put his hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter. “It is The One With the Doppelganger, your honor,” the prosecutor replied. The case first drew international attention after police posted a surveillance photo of a man carrying what appears to be a carton of beer in a Blackpool store, and social-media users began commenting on how similar he looked to Schwimmer. In court, Husseini denied stealing a wallet and attempting to use a stolen bank card five times. His trial was set for July.
