The Santa Anita horse track—which was closed last week after it was revealed that 21 horses had died in less than three months—will partially re-open Monday, Reuters reports Saturday. The track will only be open for training for the time being, although racing could reportedly resume as early as March 21. “Over the past four days, we’ve been able to do a great deal in terms of amending the soil and inspecting it,” said the leader of the group investigating the main track. “I think the most important thing with this track right now is that we closely monitor compaction levels.”
