The next Spike Lee Joint seems guaranteed to raise some... spirits. According to Deadline, the provocative director is working on a movie musical about Pfizer’s discovery and launch of Viagra, based on the Esquire article “All Rise: The Untold Story of The Guys Who Launched Viagra.” In addition to directing, Lee wrote the screenplay alongside British playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah. Let’s just hope it doesn’t fall flat!
Lee has commemorated the news with an appropriately colorful statement: “First And Foremost, I Thank Ms. Jacquelyn Shelton Lee.
