TBS’s Conan-Faced Makeover

How is Conan O’Brien’s arrival at TBS going to change things at the network? Don’t expect the programming to change much: The network is still likely to “stack” episodes of a single show—The Office or Family Guy, for example—for three hours in the run-up to Conan’s upcoming 11 p.m. show. This style of programming has made TBS the number-one cable network among viewers age 18 to 34. “If you look at what George Lopez is doing,” says one media insider. “Conan is going to do as well or better, and very likely better. TBS is probably going to establish a pretty strong talk-show lineup.”
