A holistic wellness healer in Texas was arrested last week after being accused of inappropriately touching clients in “structural integration” massages, The Dallas Morning News reports. Michael Solberg, 58, was reportedly charged with sexually assaulting a patient in 2009. Six other women also have claims against him. The first accuser reportedly said Solberg penetrated her vagina with his bare hand in February 2009. At the time, Solberg allegedly told her the act was part of “internal adjustments” necessary for treatment and said he would me more communicative with other patients about the adjustments. The other women said Solberg never explained his “internal adjustments” before the act, but gave “clinical explanations” while he touched their breasts and genitals.
The Guild for Structural Integration told the newspaper the “anus and vagina are never entered” in standard structural integration practices. Two women, including the 2009 accuser, also said they were hospitalized with injuries sustained during their appointments with Solberg. “This work can become intimate,” Solberg said in a video series about holistic wellness procedures. “I can’t imagine a job where I get greater pleasure.”
