The Houston area has been pounded by heavy rain repeatedly in recent months—and even more precipitation is now expected over the weekend: Moisture from tropical depression Patricia, which struck the Pacific coast of Mexico on Friday as a very powerful hurricane, will meet with a storm system coming from the west.

A mobile home lies almost completely underwater after heavy rains in Richmond. The National Weather Service said parts of the region could get six more inches of rain in storms this week.
