Marianne Williamson has a chance to become the first New Age guru ever elected to Congress if she beats out a crowded field in the non-partisan primary scheduled for June 3 in order to earn a place in November’s general election.
There is no public polling on the race, so it is unclear how Williamson, the best-selling author of such tomes as The Age of Miracles and The Return To Love, will fare in this safe Democratic district comprising the west side of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. But her campaign appears to have generated interest in the grubby world of politics amongst a crowd not usually associated with such material concerns.
Listed on Williamson’s fundraising reports are a number of occupations not often seen on Federal Election Commission Reports.
