The Telegraph savors the irony of Jose Gomez, whose position in California will be the highest held by a member of Opus Dei, presiding over Hollywood, which created The Da Vinci Code film that the Vatican angrily denounced. The Catholic Church of Los Angeles has been one of the most-plagued dioceses by sex-abuse scandals; no priest of Opus Dei, meanwhile, has ever been caught in a sex scandal.
