Now that a lost city has been found off the coast of Yorkshire, one might wonder what other metropolises—mythical and otherwise—lurk off coastlines around the world.

In the 14th century, a small port near Holderness, England, vanished into the sea. The town, Ravenser Odd, had been ravaged by two floods: the first overwhelmed the town’s abbey, leaving the streets full of human remains.
