Theresa May Confronts EU President Who Called Her ‘Nebulous’
EU summit showdown was caught on tape.
Britain’s prime minister was caught on camera confronting European Union Jean-Claude Juncker for bad-mouthing her to the press. Theresa May was furious that Juncker had described her request for further Brexit concessions as “nebulous and imprecise.” Lip-readers studying footage of an EU summit in Brussels say May demanded to know why Juncker had used the word “nebulous.” At a press conference held after the footage had emerged, May conceded: “I had a robust discussion with Jean-Claude Juncker.” May had hoped to secure some meaningful changes to her Brexit deal at the summit, but those requests appear to have been rebuffed by European leaders, leaving the chances of her deal being approved by the House of Commons looking remote.
