Everybody’s favorite amateur gynecologist Todd Akin has just one regret from his campaign in 2012—that he apologized for saying about rape and pregnancy that “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” In his new book, Akin also writes he could have beaten Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) if conservatives hadn’t piled on. For those who would like to disagree with Akin’s assessment of the pregnancy process, Akin writes, “Doubt me? Google ‘stress and infertility,’ and you will find a library of research on the subject.” Yes, because everything on the Internet is a fact.
