Toronto police on Monday said an accused serial killer arrested this month is believed to have hidden the dismembered remains of his victims in gardens and backyards throughout the city while working as a landscaper. Bruce McArthur has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of five people, and police suspect there are more victims. Customers of McArthur’s landscaping business were advised to contact police, who believe he may have hidden bodies on the properties where he worked. The remains of at least three people were already found hidden underneath large planters in the backyard of a home where McArthur worked for his landscaping business, authorities said. “We believe there are more remains at some of these properties that we are working to recover,” Det. Sgt. Hank Idsinga said at a press conference. “There are at least two sites that we do want to excavate where people might be buried,” he said. Several of McArthur’s alleged victims were members of Toronto’s gay community, though police say the alleged killing spree “encompasses more than the gay community.”
