Trump Appears to Confirm Cohen ‘Reimbursement’ Over Stormy Daniels Hush Money

Donald Trump appears to have confirmed his legal aide Rudy Giuliani’s claim of a “reimbursement” made to the lawyer Michael Cohen, who used his own money to buy adult-film actress Stormy Daniels’ silence. Giuliani made the sensational claim during an appearance on Hannity Wednesday night, appearing to contradict Trump’s claim that he didn’t know about the payment made shortly before the 2016 election. In a tweet that sounded suspiciously unlike him, as if written by lawyers, Trump said: “Mr. Cohen, an attorney, received a monthly retainer, not from the campaign and having nothing to do with the campaign, from which he entered into, through reimbursement, a private contract between two parties, known as a non-disclosure agreement, or NDA.” He went on to say the agreement was used “to stop the false and extortionist accusations made by [Daniels] about an affair” and claimed Daniels “signed a detailed letter admitting that there was no affair.” Trump finished: “Money from the campaign, or campaign contributions, played no roll [sic] in this transaction.”
