President Trump attacked Morning Joe co-host and frequent sparring partner Mika Brzezinski on Twitter Thursday, a day after Brzezinski drew ire from both sides of the aisle for calling Secretary of State Mike Pompeo a “wannabe dictator’s butt-boy.” “If it was a Conservative that said what ‘crazed’ Mika Brzezinski stated on her show yesterday, using a certain horrible term, that person would be banned permanently from television....” Trump wrote. “....She will probably be given a pass, despite their terrible ratings. Congratulations to @RichardGrenell, our great Ambassador to Germany, for having the courage to take this horrible issue on!” Brzezinski’s comment came in response to Pompeo’s handling of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. As The Daily Beast previously reported, she did not appear on Morning Joe Thursday morning. Co-host and husband Joe Scarborough told viewers her absence was the result of “a long-planned family event.”
