The remains of 200 American troops missing from the Korean War have been returned, according to Donald Trump. The president told a crowd of supporters during a rally in Duluth, Minnesota, that the remains were handed over Wednesday, just over a week after his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. “We got back our great fallen heroes, the remains sent back today, already 200 got sent back,” he said. There has been no official confirmation of the handover from military authorities. Nearly 8,000 U.S. military personnel remain unaccounted from the 1950-1953 Korean War and more than 36,500 U.S. troops died in the conflict. Unnamed U.S. officials told Reuters on Tuesday that North Korea would be handing over the remains to United Nations Command in South Korea, and they would then be transferred to Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii.
