President Donald Trump heaped praise on Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany in a post congratulating them on the birth of their third child.
“Congratulations to the Chiefs GREAT Quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and his very beautiful and BRILLIANT wife, Brittany, on the birth of their new baby daughter, Golden Raye,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “This is what I call a baby with great genes, both mother and father.”
The couple announced on Jan. 12 on Instagram that Brittany Mahomes, 29, had given birth to the couple’s third child. They also share Sterling Skye, 3, and Patrick Lavon, 2, according to People.
Trump has latched on to Brittany Mahomes as a MAGA foil to her friend pop megastar Taylor Swift. Mahomes and Swift have become friends since Swift started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in 2023.

In August, Mahomes liked and then unliked one of Trump’s posts on Instagram outlining the “2024 GOP platform.” Trump responded by writing on Truth Social: “I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me.”
Swift then offered an unequivocal endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris following her debate with Trump, which seemed to fuel Trump’s fixation on Mahomes.
“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth,” he told Fox News after the endorsement. “She’s a big Trump fan. I like Brittany. I think Brittany is great.”
After “like”-gate, Brittany Mahomes stopped following Trump on Instagram and declined to comment on the presidential race, except with a vague message about “haters” who “hate to see others doing well.”
Her husband Patrick Mahomes made a point of not endorsing either candidate, the AP reported.
“I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It’s to inform people to do their own research and then make the best decision for them and their family,” he said in September.
The Kansas City Chiefs will be returning to the Super Bowl on Sunday for the third time in a row, inspiring Trump to post a nice congratulatory note that quickly veered off into self-aggrandizement.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Jan. 27. “What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.”

He conspicuously did not congratulate the Philadelphia Eagles, who will be facing off against the Chiefs on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Trump canceled the Eagles’ invitation to the White House after they won the Super Bowl in 2018 during his first term in office amid NFL players’ protests during the national anthem.
Trump plans to be at the game this weekend, making him the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl. His planned attendance hasn’t been enough to shore up flagging ticket prices, though.
“It’s happy times in the wonderful Mahomes family,” Trump concluded his Truth Social post. “See you all on Sunday!”
