President Donald Trump told reporters that he would “certainly” invite North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to the White House if the June 12 Singapore summit goes well. In a joint news conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday, Trump also said he was “totally prepared to walk” away from the summit if necessary, stressing that he had done “it once before.” He also said that while he will no longer be using the phrase “maximum pressure” to describe America’s approach in North Korean negotiations, the campaign is still on.
