President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan warned New York City Mayor Eric Adams to stick to the “agreement we made” or he will be “up his butt” during a Friday joint interview on Fox News.
Homan and Adams appeared on Fox & Friends to discuss their new alliance, which reportedly incudes the mayor cooperating with illegal immigrant deportations in the sanctuary city and building a “mega” migrant shelter in the Bronx. (video)
“If I go to anywhere in the city, when I had 220,000 migrants here, anywhere in the city, and asked who would like a shelter there, not one elected would raise their hand,” alleged Adams. “And then you ask them the next question, how many of you went to Washington, D.C., and in the previous administration? And said, you need to stop this.”
Adams boasted that he took “10 trips” to Washington D.C. to ask for help with his city’s migrant population and the result is an alliance with ICE as they carry out operations.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has pledged not to cooperate with the operations in a fiery public statement.
Adams however, has agreed to help. “If he doesn’t come through, I’ll be back in New York City,” said Homan.
He added, “And we won’t be sitting on a couch. I’ll be in his office, up his butt, saying where the hell is the agreement we came to, so.”
A visually uncomfortable looking Adams retorted, “And I want ICE to deliver. I want ICE to deliver. We’re going to deliver for the safety of the American people.”
Adams added, “Let’s focus on every American and New Yorker should have the right to have an opportunity and survive in this city.”
The timing of Homan’s partnership with Adams was met with criticism after the DOJ ordered corruption charges against Adams be dismissed.
In a blistering letter, acting U.S. Attorney Danielle Sassoon resigned Thursday in response.
“Adams’s attorneys repeatedly urged what amounted to a quid pro quo, indicating that Adams would be in a position to assist with Department’s enforcement priorities only if the indictment were dismissed,” wrote Sasson.
