ROSES ARE RED...

Love was nowhere to be found in the post.

The White House sent social media into a frenzy when it shared a shocking Valentine’s Day message to undocumented migrants from its official Instagram account.

There was no love involved.

“Roses are red, violets are blue. Come here illegally, and we’ll deport you,” the post reads.

The text appears above cut-out faces of President Donald Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, on a pink background peppered with hearts.

“Happy Valentine’s Day ♥️ ,” the post is captioned.

The post comes as Trump—with the help of Homan—has tried to make good on his campaign promise to round up as many undocumented immigrants as possible and deport them en masse.

The first weeks of Trump’s presidency have been marked by highly visible—but questionably effective—raids in major sanctuary cities such as Chicago and New York.

Homan has vowed to “keep coming” after undocumented migrants, even as he blamed sanctuary cities for making the effort harder.

Reaction to the Valentine’s Day post was split between amusement and horror.

“😂 You’re too much but I love it 🇺🇸,” wrote one user.

Another, however, commented, “You should be ashamed of yourself.”

Other Instagram users seemed simply taken aback at the absurdity of the post.

“NO WAY THIS IS THE WHITEHOUSE PAGE 😂🇺🇸,” one said, while another remarked: “Why is the government becoming a meme page 😭.”

Since Trump took office, the official account has taken a striking turn.

Over the past few weeks, it has posted screenshots of Fox News and New York Post articles praising the new administration and even took a shot at Selena Gomez for a viral video in which the actress cries about deported immigrants.
