Robert Norris, who was the face of Marlboro cigarettes for 14 years before giving up the gig because he thought it set a bad example, has died at the age of 90, according to The New York Times. Norris, who was never a smoker, was one of several men to pose as the Marlboro Man in a long-running advertising campaign that made the brand the world’s best-seller. A rancher, he was given the job by ad executives who spotted a photo of him with John Wayne, the Times reported.
