Two men were killed and a woman was critically injured in Seattle on Wednesday after a gunman opened fire on people in their vehicles before sending cops on a high-speed chase. The incident started at around 4 p.m. when the suspect walked into the intersection of Sand Point Way and Bartlett Avenue, opened the door of a car and shot and wounded a woman inside, police said. The suspect then opened fire on a Route 75 Metro bus, wounding the driver, before walking to another vehicle, opening the door, and killing its driver. The suspect then carjacked that person’s vehicle and fled the scene. Police pursued the suspect in a chase that ended with the gunman crashing into another car and killing the driver. The gunman was taken into custody and identified only as a Sand Point resident who is in his thirties, police said. “I am shocked and grieving for the individuals who were shot today in North Seattle,” Councilwoman Deborah Juarez, who represents Lake City, wrote on Twitter. “It is an appalling, unconscionable act. I stand with all the good people in Lake City, in the north end, and throughout the city of Seattle in condemning this violent action.”
