Two women were shot after chaos erupted at the April 1 vigil for slain rapper Nipsey Hussle, according to a search warrant affidavit cited Wednesday by The Los Angeles Times. Veteran gang investigator Scott Swanson wrote in the affidavit that one woman was hit in the lower back, and the other—who reportedly drove herself to the hospital—was shot in the left elbow. One of the victims reportedly told police that she heard a “loud, rapid succession of gunshots from an unknown direction” before she was hit. The affidavit contradicts public statements from LAPD Chief Michel Moore, who said last week that there hadn’t been any gunfire at the vigil.
