UC Irvine Frat Suspended After 18-Year-Old College Student Dies
‘HEARTBROKEN’
University of California, Irvine has suspended one of its fraternities after an 18-year-old student was found dead in a home near campus. Noah Domingo, of La Crescenta, California, was found dead in bed Saturday morning—the cause of his death is still under investigation. Domingo was a first-year biological-sciences major and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. While the fraternity hasn’t been blamed for the death, UC Irvine placed it on interim suspension until the investigation reaches its conclusion. Edgar J. Dormitorio, the school’s interim vice chancellor for student affairs, wrote to students that it would “closely examine the larger context in which this tragedy occurred and will be working with the Greek community to help ensure that they are engaging in behaviors and practices that are in alignment with university policies and their own values.” The fraternity said it was heartbroken by Domingo’s untimely death.
