The undocumented housekeeper at President Trump’s Bedminster golf club who was featured in a New York Times article last week has yet to be formally fired by the club, according to her attorney. Anibal Romero, who represents Victorina Morales, told The Daily Beast that his client received a paycheck from the golf club on Friday “via direct deposit.” The New York Times reported that Morales has not returned to the club since the article came out because she thought she would “most likely be immediately fired” if she returned to work.

Romero previously called for authorities to look into the treatment of undocumented immigrants at the club, and confirmed that “state and federal authorities” have been in touch with him about the case. He also said he is aware of three additional former Bedminster employees who worked at the club while undocumented, and said he believed they left their jobs due to the “toxic environment.” “My clients have reason to believe that there are more undocumented employees that will come forward,” Romero said. “We need the Department of Homeland Security to investigate ASAP... My clients are worried about their friends.”
